Leicester have now gone two games without the Algerian winger and fans fear his absence will continue into Saturday's important fixture against Manchester City.
It is unknown if Mahrez has been allowed time off by manager Claude Puel or whether he is refusing to make himself available for selection.
Puel insists that Mahrez's leave is not on his mind. "My preoccupation is about my available players and to keep them in a positive attitude and to continue this good work," the Frenchman said.
The Leicester manager also stated that he 'expects nothing' of Mahrez, who he hopes will return to the squad. "The most important thing is not to think about one player, but to think about my team and my squad," Puel added.
