Only one player has missed more big chances than Morata

"A situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score usually in a one-on-one scenario or from very close range." That is how Opta defines a 'big miss', and Alvaro Morata has made an unhealty 14 in the Premier League since his £70 million move from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard was heavily criticised on Wednesday as he was responsible for a trio of missed chances in his side's 2-2 draw at the Emirates, but he still remains one behind Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah who tops the table.

The Egyptian has missed 15 'big chances' in an otherwise fruitful season, scoring 17 league goals and winning games for Klopp's side. Morata has also enjoyed a good start to the season despite his horror show in north London, netting 12 goals in 27 appearances for the Blues.

As long as their goals equal wins for the team, the misses will be forgotten. But when points are dropped, fans tend to focus on the wasted chances.
