Real Madrid have endured a miserable start to the season, trailing leaders Barcelona by eight points in La Liga and also stuttering in the Champions League. For that reason, Zinedine Zidane is considering the option of bringing in new faces in January.
Part of Madrid's problems have stemmed from a lack of goals, with star striker Cristiano Ronaldo netting just twice in the domestic competition. However, the Portuguese superstar himself has dismissed claims that the Bernabeu outfit should sign a new frontman by informing Florentino Perez of his choice of players to join in the winter transfer window.
According to Spanish outlet 'Diario Gol', Ronaldo wants young Portuguese winger Goncalo Guedes, who has impressed so far at Valencia. On loan from Paris Saint-Germain, he shares the same agent as Ronaldo (Jorge Mendes), which makes the transfer likely.
Ronaldo is fond of another PSG man, key defender Marquinhos. Having emerged as one of Europe's top centre-backs, the Brazilian is tied to the Parc des Princes until 2022 and only a large sum will convince the Franch giants to sell.
Real Madrid's goalkeeper woes have also re-surfaced with unconvincing displays by Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla. Ronaldo is keen to sign on of the hottest young properties in Spanish football: Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is out of a contract in the summer and is expected to sign for free.
The European champions want to get their season back on track and Ronaldo has had his say. 'Los Blancos' will now have to wait for the new arrivals once the window reopens.
