Dembele has arguably been the driving force in their midfield this season and earned many plaudits for his mature and dominant performance in their recent 2-2 draw at Juventus in the Champions League.
So much so that Souness, who now works as a pundit for 'Sky Sports', believes that the 30-year-old is the best player at Tottenham despite Harry Kane grabbing all the headlines.
In fact, Kane scored Spurs' last-minute winner to take all three points in that Palace game which Souness was commentating on, but the former player maintained his opinion.
"The only thing missing in [Dembele's] game is he doeesn't score enough goals. He wrong-foots people, glides past people for fun, a wonderful talent. I know Harry [Kane] gets all the headlines and [Christian] Eriksen is a little craftsman as well but there's a real argument there".
He concluded: "I think if you asked Tottenham players who's the best player at the football club, I think maybe the majority might go for Dembele".
