The rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo knows no bounds. As the pair continue to fight for every accolade that comes their way, the Barcelona star will equal Ronaldo's record of four Golden Shoes on Friday.
After scoring 37 goals in La Liga last season, Lionel Messi will be handed his fourth Golden Shoe for topping the goalscoring charts across Europe.
The Argentine will receive the award from his teammate Luis Suarez, last year's winner. Only three Barcelona players have been awarded the prestigious prize. Messi (four times), the Uruguayan striker, and Ronaldo Nazario, who clinched it in his only season at the Camp Nou (1997/98).
Messi tops La Liga scoring charts again in the current campaign and leads the race for next year's Golden Shoe.
