The Merseysiders chased the Guinean's signature all summer before finally getting the German side to agree to a £48m move that will come into effect on July 1, 2018.
However, Leipzig's early exit from the Champions League and the already commanding lead held by Bayuern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga had led to suggestions that the move could be expedited, though Klopp insists that will not be the case.
"There is an agreement with the club that he will come in June or July to Liverpool," Klopp explained.
"There is nothing else to say about that. We really don't think about it because of all the things Leipzig have said.
"They said they do not have to sell any player. Why should they do something like that (letting him leave in January)? So no, we don't think about it."
Meanwhile, the Liverpool boss also move to deny that he has been in contact with the player this season, saying: "No. He is a player of Leipzig."
Keita has scored five goals in 19 games in all competitions so far this season, though his discipline has also been called into question after he received two red cards early in the season.
