The golden retirement of Turan to Turkish football could happen in a matter of days. This is what was said in Turkey after the coach of the leading Turkish side unofficially confirmed the signing of the Barcelona player.
"It has not been an easy transfer, Arda Turan has been our goal for years and I have to thank the president for this signing," acknowledged Avci at an official meeting with Turkish coaches.
In recent hours, the Turkish media 'Sporx' spoke of an agreement between Turan and Instanbul Basaksehir and confirmed that the former Atletico Madrid player did not want to go to any other club.
"He has reached an agreement with Basaksehir and does not want to look at other proposals, he wants to go back to Turkey's iconic city," the player's agent, Ahmed Bulut, accepted.
Despite this cascade of words and rumours, Barcelona have not confirmed any movement in relation to Arda Turan in the last few hours.
The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour in Ernesto Valverde's team since leaving Atletico Madrid in 2015 and has yet to appear in La Liga this season. With Barcelona having just splashed out on Philippe Coutinho, cuts will need to be made to the squad.
