It's the biggest Premier League fixture of the weekend as the 'Blues' take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, with head coaches Mourinho and Antonio Conte set to battle it out for three points.
It's a match with numerous sub-layers as Mourinho managed Chelsea for two different periods (2004-07, 2013-15) and the two managers also came to blows during the first fixture earlier on in the season.
However, speaking ahead of the crunch game, Mourinho has insisted that Sunday's match holds no extra significance for him.
He stressed: "When you leave a club, what keeps that extra feeling of playing against your previous club is when you leave with a negative feeling or have stones in your shoes. I didn't leave with negative feelings. As a professional, I always accept decisions from the club".
"I gave everything I could to the club so no negative feelings. It's just a very important match because we are separated by just a few points and we have similar ambitions."
Mourinho was referring to the race for the Champions League qualification places, in which second to fifth are separated by just five points following Liverpool's 4-1 over West Ham on Saturday.
Nonetheless, with United in third with 56 points and Chelsea in fourth with 53, it is important for both side to fight for a victory to ensure they stay one step ahead of their competition.
