Cristiano Ronaldo has found the back of the net in each of his last four games for Real Madrid, against Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Al Jazira and Gremio.
His best goalscoring streak so far this season had previously been two games in a row, but now he has netted in four consecutive games, adding up to a total five goals.
He underwent a similar situation in the closing stages of last season. In Real Madrid's final four matches of the campaign, he scored seven times against Sevilla, Celta, Malaga and Juventus. The latter two were decisive in Madrid's quest to lift La Liga and Champions League trophies.
If he manages to beat Ter Stegen on Saturday, Ronaldo will prolong his breathtaking run of form. Goals in five successive matches, something that hasn't happened since 2014. Back then, he managed 20 goals in 12 straight fixtures.
Barcelona happen to be among the Portugese striker's favourite opponents: 17 goals in 31 'Clasico' games. An impressive tally which comes in fifth behind Sevilla (27), Getafe (21), Atlético (21) and Celta (20).
