Salah was already an icon in Egypt before he landed in England to set the Premier League on fire, due to his major role in securing his nation a spot in the World Cup in Russia. However, his reputation and fame have grown and grown as the year has gone by, and he is now regarded as one of the best players in the world.
The winger has broken the Premier League record for goals in a 38-game season, netting an incredible 32 times for new club Liverpool. His goal on the final day of the season against Brighton broke the record, securing Jurgen Klopp's side a place in the top-four, and Salah now has one more game left to add to his tally of 44 in all competitions.
This game is a huge clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League final, and ahead of this fixture, alongside the aforementioned World Cup, the forward's boots are going on display at the British Museum. The boots will be exhibited in the Egyptian section of the museum in London.
Speaking after this was announced, exhibit keeper Neal Spencer called Salah an 'icon'. "The boots tell a story of a modern Egyptian icon, performing in the UK, with a truly global impact," Spencer said.
"This acquisition brings the British Museum's world-famous Egyptian collection right up to date."
"Displayed amidst the statues of ancient pharaohs, we now show the boots with which Mo Salah won the Golden Boot for Liverpool."
