"If there is the possibility to improve the squad under a numerical aspect I think it will be a good choice but at the same time, I'm enjoying these players," Conte said ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Everton.
The Italian has complained in the past about the lack of depth in Chelsea's squad, and in any case additions should suit the side's balance.
"At this moment I'm ready to continue to play with all these players because they are showing me great commitment and great behaviours and I'm very happy to work with these players," he added.
"But at the same time, if there is the possibility to improve our squad I think the club will try to do this."
"A difficult period is starting, especially for every club and every coach because in this period there are a lot of rumours - some rumours are true, some rumours are wrong," he said, without being drawn to questions on players' futures.
"We must be ready to face this situation. I think the best way for me is I don't read and only to chat with the club and then to try to improve our squad if this is possible."
