Chelsea: Top scorer Alvaro Morata is expected to come straight back into the side having missed the goalless draw with Everton through suspension, though David Luiz (knee) and Charly Musonda (groin) remain sidelined.
Brighton: Defender Shane Duffy will be available for selection once again after he sat out the victory over Watford due to suspension and he could come in for Connor Goldson. Forward Izzy Brown is ineligible due to the terms of his loan, whilst former Chelsea man Steve Sidwell (back) will not feature.
Did you know?
Brighton won the first game between the two sides back in January 1933, but have failed to win in seven games since (L6, D1).
The 'Seagulls' have only scored once in the last six meeting between the two sides.
The thoughts of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte on the January transfer window:
"If there is the possibility to improve the squad on the numerical aspect, I think it would be a good choice.
"But, at the same time, I'm enjoying working with these players. At this moment, I'm ready to continue to play with all these players."
The thoughts of Brighton boss Chris Hughton:
"We go to Chelsea knowing in most people's minds it is difficult to get a result there.
"There aren't too many who will expect that but that's the challenge, and for this club and these players these are the challenges we have been looking forward to the most.
"In the other big games, apart from Liverpool [a 5-1 defeat], we have been in the games."
