The German international's contract with Liverpool expires at the end of this season and the two parties have failed to come to an agreement over a contract extension.
According to Italian publication 'Tuttosport', the 23-year-old has his heart set on a move to Turin and he has agreed with the Serie A giants that he will join up with them in the summer.
Juventus may well make an offer for the Liverpool midfielder in January, for a vastly reduced fee, but they could just wait until the summer and secure his services on a free transfer.
The hierarchy at Liverpool will certainly be disappointed they failed to tie a young talented player down to new terms, and letting him go for free would leave a bitter taste in their mouths.
