Barcelona have enjoyed an incredible start to the new season. In La Liga they have won all six games, scored the most goals and conceded the least, helping them open up a four-point lead prior to Saturday's fixtures.
Las Palmas, on the other hand, sit at the near the bottom of the table in 17th place on six points.
The surprising home loss to Leganes last weekend led to Manolo Marquez stepping down as coach on Monday night, with Ayestaran named as his replacement on Thursday.
In the lead up to the game, the former Valencia coach said:
'We have to have the ball, but we know we're going to suffer and we have to be solid.
'Against Barcelona we cannot only go out to defend, we have to fight for the ball even though we know there will be times when we will be under the cosh.
'We're going to try and be proactive and not respond depending on what our opponents do. We're going to try and ensure this team get results by having possession of the ball.
'This team cannot get results based only on closing up shop, we don't have that type of player.'
Las Palmas will have to make do without Vitolo, Sergi Samper, Loic Remy and former Barca prodigy Alen Halilovic, who are all sidelined with injuries.
Do they stand a chance against an in-form Barcelona?
