Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in Wenger's 22 years at the helm last season. with the club sixth in the Premier League this time around with six matches remaining.
Given their less-than-impressive performance this season, there have been calls from disgruntled fans for Wenger to step down. Aubameyang, however, hopes that fans have noticed the 'Gunners' recent improvements.
When asked if the Arsenal boss deserves the criticism, the forward said: ''It's a difficult question. Sometimes I think it's a bit unfair. We're playing better in these last games and I hope the people can see this.''
It's not exactly a rousing show of support for Wenger, however when discussing fellow Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette, the 28-year-old was much keener to voice his enthusiasm in an interview with 'Sky Sports News'.
He said: ''I hope we will have the opportunity to play together - it's something I said when I first arrived that I hoped to play with him. We have different styles, but I think they're styles that complement each other - he's a very good player and a very kind person.''
Aubameyang added: ''We were once rivals in our days in France, but now we're friends and I hope we can play well together and score lots of goals.''
