Anderlecht demand £27m from United for Dendoncker

"Dendoncker was already busy in the previous transfer period. But now that Kara is injured, Leander is doing a great job as a central defender and we're not going to let our star go. Unless there is an insane bid perhaps."

He goes on to say, "These are matters that are discussed. A transfer for €25-€30m is possible, but then we also need a replacement right away."

The 22-year-old has made 154 appearances and found the back of the net 10 times in five seasons for Anderlecht, which could see him make the cut for the Belgian squad at this summer's World Cup. 

He has attracted the attention of Old Trafford officials since his impressive performance during last year's Europa League quarter-final where he scored in the first leg. The Manchester club expressed interest during the summer but chose to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea instead.
