Bournemouth take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, giving Ake a chance to return to his former club, but the Dutchman insists that he is not looking for revenge.
Ake was tipped for big things as a youngster but was sold on by Chelsea in the summer, with Bournemouth parting with £20m for the 22-year-old.
Wednesday's game will be his first retun to his former side but Ake himself insists he has not given it much thought.
'I've got nothing to prove, to be fair,' he said speaking ahead of the game. 'I don't go there to prove myself or things like this.
'It's just a game, a big game for us. We want to go to the semi-final and that's what I want to think about, not about other things.
'I've watched a bit of them (Chelsea), but I watch a lot of football, a lot of Sky Sports and BT including Chelsea – not personally or only watching Chelsea.
'Obviously they're a very good side, with very good players, the same as Liverpool — the front players are really dangerous.
'So it will be tough for us but mentally we need to prepare again and try to win the game.'
