Aguero is just on goal away from drawing level with City's all-time record goalscorer Eric Brooks and to City fans, the only question that remains is how many goals the former Atletico Madrid man will beat the 78-year-old record by.
Former Spurs defender Walker is delighted that Aguero is part of the City squad, saying that it is nice to be on the same team at the striker, rather than suffer at his hand as he had done previously.
“Facing him used to be a nightmare,” Walker said. “I don’t know how many seasons I spent coming up against him but he always seemed to score against us (Tottenham). It was frustrating, he was so good, and having him on the same team for a change is a real bonus.
“He’s a really good influence in the dressing room, always ready with a word of advice for the younger lads, and on the pitch he’s the type of player who can come up with a bit of magic to change a game if things aren’t going so well.”
Despite knowing exactly what to expect from his new team-mate on the pitch, Walker admits that Aguero's personality was a mystery to him before his move to the Etihad this summer.
“Off the field he is a bit quieter than I thought but he has a positive presence,” Walker explained. “Like a few other players at this club he has a winning mentality. He only wants the best. Anything below par and he will be the first one to say come on, this isn’t right.”
The partnership between Aguero and Gabriel Jesus has been developing nicely so far this season and the pair are likely to lead the line again when City face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday.
