Five days after their Champions League draw with Tottenham, Real Madrid step back into the Bernabeu and welcome La Liga strugglers Eibar.
Zinedine Zidane's men have experienced a major dip in home form since the start of the 2017/18 campaign. 'Los Blancos' have won all five of their away games, coming in the league and in Europe, but they have only been able to record two home wins from a potential six (W2, D3, L1).
For that reason, October 22 is a very important date in the Real Madrid calendar, as they will look to overcome Eibar, a team sat in 16th place in the La Liga standings. With just seven points, 'Los Armeros' are hanging just above the relegation zone.
A Real Madrid win will only increase tensions among the Eibar fanbase. The atmosphere is already sour and a victory over the reigning champions would definitely lift the mood of the fans, who simply can't get their heads get their heads around their team's recent lacklustre performances.
Eibar have scored a mere three league goals this season, joint worst with Alaves, and conceded the most (17). They are in somewhat of a mini crisis, something Real will be looking to take advantage of.
But in football, anything can happen. Zidane will have made it clear to his players that you always have to respect the opposition. Nonetheless, he will be expecting all three points on Sunday evening.
