The fan, Mark Buckton, travelled from Taipei via Kuala Lumpur on his way to England to watch the game. After nine years away, he was planning a trip to his native Britain, but said his 'wife didn't know' that he had 'planned the schedule around the whole game'.

He posted a picture of the airport on Twitter marking the start of his journey and, following a reply from Whitchurch Alport, Buckton is now the match sponsor. 'I'm looking forward to it. I'm going with family and my wife, who has no choice', the fervent Altrincham supporter said.
