The Brazilian left-back wants to play for another team before saying goodbye to the game. In an interview for Brazilian publication 'Globo Esporte', he revealed that he would like to play for Brazilian side Botafogo, despite coming through the ranks at Fluminense, thier Rio de Janeiro rivals.
'I would love to play for Botafogo someday. It would be great', the Brazil international revealed.
Botafogo responded shortly after the information surfaced with a post on their official Twitter account directed at the Real Madrid man: 'He will always be welcome'.
The Brazilian side also offered Marcelo the No 6 shirt worn by the legendary Nilton Santos, who lifted the 1958 and 1962 World Cups with Brazil and spent his entire career at Botafogo.
