Riyad Mahrez has continually been linked with a summer move to Roma, but Leicester have rejected three bids from the Serie A side and refuse to change their stance.
The Algerian proved just why his club values him at over £32m, the amount of Roma's latest and possibly final bid, as he put in a brilliant performance against Brighton at the King Power Stadium.
Riyad Mahrez played a part in both goals, as his shot was spilled by Matthew Ryan and fell to Shinji Okazaki to open the scoring and his corner was headed in by Harry Maguire in the second half.
"I've spoken about Riyad on many occasions in terms of his focus, his professionalism - and you saw today what he's capable of," Shakespeare said after the match.
"While he remains focused and professional, he will always be considered for selection."
Shakespeare was also happy to see Maguire head in Leicester's second on his home debut for the Foxes.
The 24-year-old joined from Hull in June and put in a commanding performance alongside Wes Morgan against the Seagulls.
"It's always pleasing when one of your centre halves pops up because we need to share the goals around," Shakespeare added.
"We've got into Wes and Harry about contributing on that front, and it was important that he got us that second goal today."
