Mane has so far sat out two matches of his three-match suspension, with Jurgen Klopp's side failing to win either.
The 'Reds' were held 1-1 by Burnley at Anfield before falling to defeat against Leicester in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
The former Southampton forward has established himself as a key member of the Mersesiders' squad in recent times, scoring 13 goals in 27 Premier League appearances this season before starting this term with three in four before his momentum was halted by that red card.
Mane will complete his suspension this weekend when Liverpool once again face the 'Foxes', with his side in bad need of a win.
In an interview with 'ESPN', the Senegalese revealed that he is not enjoying his time on the sidelines but admits that it is all a normal part of football.
"It is not an easy time for me because I would love to play all the time and help my team-mates. It's bad, but I have to accept the suspension and wait until my comeback," he said.
"I'm a football player and I love to play and score, to give us goals for the team. The suspension is part of football and I just have to accept it and move forward and be ready for my next game, which is coming soon."
The 25-year-old also said that he was hoping to speak to Ederson on the phone in the near future to apologise for his challenge.
"We don't know each other, but I would love to have his number and send him a proper message. I think it is OK now, though," he explained.
"Honestly, after this incident, I was not OK. I was thinking about the red card, obviously, but we are human beings and we have to be nice to each other."
