Wenger revealed his position would come under review and the process was nothing out of the ordinary but the Frenchman, who signed a new two-year deal at the end of last season, was non-committal when asked about his future at the club.
"I said I sit down with the board at the end of every season and see where we go from there, so that's not exactly the same," he told 'beINsports' ahead of Saturday's north London derby.
Having previously discussed the review, he pointed out that his comments had been misconstrued: "Sometimes you will say a sentence and people will turn it the way we would like to go."
He then ended with a similarly vague statement regarding his future: "I have a two-year contract and I will always try to go the end of my contract, but I always have the honesty to sit down with the board and to see where we go from there. That's quite simple."
