Milan are looking to continue their summer spending spree with the addition of Renato Sanches. The club have made contact with Bayern Munich regarding a loan deal for the portuguese midfielder, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed.
'I can confirm that Milan have shown interest in Renato Sanches,' Rummenigge told Bild. 'But we did not get any further'.
Reports suggest that Milan are looking to agree a two-year loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent for €40m. However Bayern chief Rummenigge has stated that Milan are not willing to meet their asking price.
'I have the impression that AC Milan are not ready to meet our demands. It was not just about lending. At €48million (£42m) I would not be dissatisfied.'
After coming out of Portugal´s triumphant Euro 2016 campaign as one of the brightest stars in world football, Bayern signed Sanches in a £35m deal. Since then, the midfielder has struggled to break into Carlo Ancelotti´s starting eleven, making just six starts in the Budesliga last season.
Having already secured 9 major signings this summer, Milan are ready to reignite the career of the 19-year-old.
