The 'Blues' have been heavily linked with a £35m move for Leicester City midfielder Drinkwater before Thursday's transfer deadline and Chelsea new boy Bakayoko says that he would be a welcome addition to the squad.
French international Bakayoko joined Antonio Conte's side earlier this summer in a £40m move but he shares Conte's belief that his new side are a player short in the middle of the park following the departures of Nemanja Matic, Nathaniel Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Lewis Baker.
Speaking to 'SFP Sport' Bakayoko said: "Competition only makes you better. I am not scared of anyone.
"I think that there are not enough of us in midfield, especially with all the competitions we will be playing in.
"So we need another midfielder to reinforce the team, so it is a very good thing that he (Drinkwater) could be coming."
Should Drinkwater move to the capital, he would be reunited with former team-mate N'Golo Kante. The pair's midfield partnership was a huge factor in Leicester's shock Premier League title win two seasons ago.
